Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Training
A training programme of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, for mental health professionals who want to address spirituality, religion and the search for meaning in their clinical work.
I co-lead this training with Rev. Dr. Steven Ingram. It is offered online in two levels, each carrying 15 continuing education hours.
Training dates for November 2026
Both levels run online. Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2.
6–7 November 2026
$400, payable at registration. 15 CE hours. Five three-hour courses, online.
13–14 November 2026
$400, payable at registration, with a limited number of scholarships. 15 CE hours. Five three-hour courses, online.

What the training covers
ACPE’s Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy curriculum develops the knowledge, skills and ways of being needed to address spirituality, religion and the search for meaning in mental health care, effectively and ethically.
Each level is five three-hour courses. Across them we cover:

If you work with clients for whom faith, meaning or spiritual struggle is part of the picture, and you want a structured way to work with that rather than around it, this is the training for you.
Continuing education
- 15 CE hours per level Thirty hours across both levels
- Accepted by NBCC, ASWB and NYSED
- Fee $400 per level, payable at registration. Limited scholarships are available for Level 2
Who leads the training
The training is led by Rev. Dr. Steven Ingram, LPCC, CSW (OH) and Rabbi Karen Sussan, LCSW, LMHC (NY).
I am an authorized ACPE trainer in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy. Alongside this training I maintain a trauma therapy practice in Suffern, New York, and my own clinical work includes spiritually integrated psychotherapy and religious trauma and spiritual injury.
