Healing that goes
beyond just talking

I work with adults who know something is in the way — past experiences, chronic pain, or patterns they can't break — and help them get unstuck using EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and attachment-informed therapy.

Does this sound familiar?

You've tried to figure it out.
Something still feels stuck.

  • You've been in therapy before, but something wasn't quite getting there

  • You understand your patterns — yet they keep showing up anyway

  • Stress feels like it's coming from everywhere, all at once

  • You carry more than people around you realize

  • Anxiety, conflict, or pain keeps pulling you back to the same place

  • You want to change, but you're not sure what "better" actually feels like

If any of this resonates, you're in the right place.

How Karen works

Therapy that meets you
where the words don't reach.

Talk therapy alone can only go so far. Trauma, chronic pain, and deep-rooted patterns live in the nervous system — not just in thought. The approaches below are designed to reach what conversation alone can't.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. An evidence-based approach that helps your brain finally process what got stuck — memories, pain, patterns that keep looping. This is not fast by design. Done right, it's lasting.

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)

A newer approach that works even earlier in the nervous system than EMDR — reaching shock, trauma, and attachment wounds at their deepest root. Slow, precise, and profound.

Attachment-informed therapy

The relationship matters. How you learned to connect — or not — shapes everything. Parts work, relational attunement, and honest collaboration are woven throughout.

Spiritually integrated work

For clients who bring their spiritual life into the room, I meet them there. This isn't a separate service — it's part of how I understand healing and what it means to be human.

"If it feels weird, it's usually working. Experiential therapy is not the same as talk therapy. And slow is the new fast."

About Karen

I have 25 years experience as a licensed psychotherapist helping individuals through psychotherapy. Presently, we can also work together in-person or via telebehavioral health services (online, remote psychotherapy).

Clients find me accessible and kind. I am passionate about upholding human dignity. Given my extensive background as a mental health counselor and social worker, I can customize psychotherapy to meet your needs and circumstances. A special feature I like to offer is the use of EMDR, parts work, and other attachment informed approaches.

Is this the right fit?

I work best with people
who are ready to commit.

My ideal client isn't looking for a quick fix. They've often tried therapy before. They know something is in the way — and they're done circling it. They show up, stay honest, and trust the process even when it gets uncomfortable. Healing becomes a priority, not a backup plan.

I currently work with individuals only — no couples or family therapy. Sessions are in-person in Suffern, NY. Telehealth is available.
